Dempsey Christmas

O.K. so we have not been updating you on the Dempsey household so good this month. Allot has been going on from Great Grandma's Christmas @ the Cicero fire barn, the stomach bug hitting everyone but Connor, Breakfast with Santa, Connors football banquet, Sing along @ school, School parties, riding the polar express, baking Christmas Cookies for Santa, cutting down a Christmas tree, decorating the house, welcoming our new friend Henry (our elf on the self for those of you who are not in the loop) and you know just the day to day stuff to fit in around that. This holiday was the best this year. Connor and Emma really got into it. Henry was a huge deal every morning to find him and to see if he had left anything for them and of course to check the advent calender to count down the days until Christmas and get their treat from there. The Polar Express Train was also very exciting. Connor and Emma love the movie and I think may have it memorized from start to end. They each rec'd the first gift of Christmas, a Bell from Santa and of course the Golden Ticket, that they were not about to let go of. They were afraid of getting kicked off the train. We then headed back to the station for some Hot Coco and cookies. They were also sure to put reindeer food out for Rudolf and the others and put out 4 cookies and some milk out for Santa when we got back from Uncle Kevin's and Aunt Heathers on Christmas eve. We had a wonderful Holiday season. We wish everyone a Happy & Healthy New Year.

Our Little Football Star

We also had Connor's Football Banquet on Saturday morning. It was done up very nice. All tables with cloth tablecloths, real silver and glasses and a very nice breakfast was put on @ the Central Square Middle School. Connor was very proud of his new trophy. He told his dad that his going to need a self in his room if he continues to keep getting trophies.

Santa

We went to the annual Time Warner breakfast with Santa on Saturday. Connor was all excited to see Santa and give his wish of the Ben 10 alien maker. Emma on the other hand wanted nothing to do with him this year, she was happy just standing back by mom viewing Santa from a far. Connor was nice enough to let Santa know that Emma could use a barbie or two, however he said that was all he was telling Santa because Emma should have gone up there herself. Hey you take what you can get right? lol

Magic House & Bowling

Next on our stops, the Magic House in St. Louis and the Bowling alley the day after Thanksgiving. The magic house is hands on museum for kids. Connor and Emma had a ball. Connor loved the water works station and the car garage where you could take apart and reassemble a vehicle. Emma's favorite was the Pizza shop and the art center. They all enjoyed Mom's and April's hair at the static electricity ball, Connor tried but just not enough hair there. Then off to a day of bowling with Uncle Ian (mart), Jen, April, Brandon, Noel, Myself, Connor and Emma. Love the pose Uncle Ian:-). To answer the Uncle Ian, Emma about half way through the trip decided to start calling Mart; Uncle Ian (from the chipmunk movie) why you ask, who knows that is just Emmi. A jokester just like her dad.

Our St. Louis Trip

We all went to Uncle Marts house in St. Louis to visit for the thanksgiving holiday. The first day we went to the Gateway Arch. The Arch is the tallest national monument in the United States at 630 feet.
Construction started in 1963 and the last section of the Arch was put into place on October 28, 1965. The Arch sways a maximum of 18" (9" each way) in a 150 mph wind. The usual sway is 1/2". We all rode to the top of the arch in the "Pods" which are part elevator and part amusement park ride because of the irregular shape of the arch. Take a look!

The 1st Ride of the Year

Excitement today in the Dempsey house. We got SNOW!!!!! Enough to ride the snowmobile. P.J.'s still on, as no time to change we had to get to that snow, snowsuits fit well over top and outside they went. Emma got to go on the first ride with Daddy around the block on the new sled. Connor was excited to do the snow angels, shovel, snow blow and of course ride the snowmobiles. Bubba Dog was just as excited too. We are still getting snow, looks like until Sunday.

Girl's Day Out

Emma and I had a girl's day out with Rhonda and Deanna. Emma and I started our day out with a trip to the hair salon to get Mommy's hair done. I asked Emma if she would like to get her hair cute for the 1st time but she was not in the least bit interested. Then we headed off to Carousel mall. First we had some lunch of choice, then to Libby Lu's were the girls got to dress up in fairy outfits and have their hair, makeup and nails done. They also got a backpack and were able to pick out 5 goodies of their choice to fill up their bags. After all that we headed out to mall to the carousel for a ride. Then to do some shopping for Emma, she thought she could uses some dresses. It was a success we found a dress and skirt. I think we may be in trouble in a couple of years with the shopping the girls are pros already. Deanna and Emma would say "oh how cute is this" they were even checking out the boy clothes for their brothers (we are in TROUBLE). It was a fun day.

Road Trip

O.K not sure if you can call it a road trip maybe a quick one. Connor had no school Monday or Tuesday so we took Emma and Seamus out of school (school skippers) and headed 3 hours north to Great Poppy's and Uncle Jeff's house. We all had fun feeding the fish, checking out Uncle Jeff's new electric wheel chair and playing with Great Poppy. The kids were great in the car, I could not have asked for better kids. Thanks again Great Poppy and Uncle Jeff for a fun time.

Playing in the Leaves

We have had a few nice days this week, and the kids have been bugging me to rake the leaves. As many of you know we do not have any trees in yard besides the small one in the front yard.

So as you can imagine not many leaves to rake but we managed to get a few and the kids had a ball the small amount of leaves we manged to rake up.

Trick-or-Treat

The witch and the Transformer Bumblebee had a good time Trick-or-Treating. We had a whole house full prior to going out. I think all togather we had 12 kids. This year they made it all the way around the block and then some. We even made a pitstop home to drop off some candy to start to refill our pumpkins. Gigi, Poppy and Great Grandma stayed home to hand out the candy for us.

SNOW

We ended up with snow in October, crazy right? Not if you are 6 years old and have a snowmobile you are dying to ride and your name is Connor. Connor, Emma and I came out of the mall last night to find our car covered in snow and again this morning Connor woke with excitement because our yard had a dusting of snow on it. He was in great hope that there would be enough snow this afternoon for him to ride on the road around the circle, to mom's excitement there was not. Oh well says Connor maybe we can try again tomorrow. Mom did not have the heart to tell him that it is looking like 60's again by Friday.

Pumpkin Carving

Sunday night we decided to carve pumpkins. Gigi and Poppy came to help. Poppy got the bright idea to tell Connor that he better take off his shirt, so he does not get messy. However Emma thought WOW poppy, that sounds like a great idea. They both did have very cute Halloween shirts on, planned out by mom so they would look festive. As you can see that did not work out so good. Who invited that Gigi and Poppy any who:-) All in all the kids had a great time, and we have nice looking jack-o-lanterns for Friday night.

Family Photo's

A couple of weekends ago, we had some family photo's done that were well over due. The last photo's we had taken Emmi had very little hair. O.K. so some of you are saying that could not be that long ago. I do believe she was about 3 years old and Connor about 4, about 2 years ago. It is amazing how fast the time goes by. I feel like they were just 3 and 4 but Connor is 6 and Emma 4 1/2, getting to big to fast. The photo's were taken @ three mile bay on Oneida Lake, by a mom that we meet @ football who is trying to start her own photography business. We were her first attempt. If anyone sees a photo they would like please let me know, I can get a copy of it for you in any size you would like.

A Night @ the Zoo

We took the kids to Burnett Park Zoo Friday night with two other families we meet through football and had a night @ the Zoo Boo. They were all very interested in the monsters and such but not interested enought to get close enough for a picture. As you can probably tell I did not get a choice in the Halloween costume for Connor the Transformer Bumblebee. No more cute fuzzy costumes and as for Emma, she had decided to go as a turtle still cute and fuzzy.

The FIREHOUSE

Emma and Noel went on Friday to Emma's 1st field trip of the year. I'm not sure but that may be another career choice for Emma. She really enjoyed spraying the fire hose, hanging out in the fire engine and wearing her official fireman hat.
